- Got one hellacious headache. Took something for it, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything #
- @Syfy I tried to watch Rock Monster; a rock creature I could take, but I've been to Ivanovo and couldn't suspend disbelief THAT much #
- @MrShimasaki I don't watch rasslin' so I wouldn't know in reply to MrShimasaki #
- WTF? RT @OCReggie: No sweets! School warns mom for putting marshmallows in daughter's lunch. Good policy or too far? http://bit.ly/909KiR #
- I just got a Facebook friend request from my father. That's a sign of the apocalypse, isn't it? #
- @wilw Yeah, TweetPhoto's done that to me, too. in reply to wilw #
- Gee, I wonder why the state's broke RT @latimes California lawmakers are the highest paid in the nation, survey finds http://lat.ms/9vLlnE #
- Wow, spammers. Next time, use my current last name, not the one I haven't used in 10 years. #
- Going through some 1960s Star Trek comics. Because nothing says high tech like giant tank treads and a radiation symbol #
- "And a split second later, the figures materialize on the planet Metamorpha, the fantastic, ever-changing world in deep space…" #
- Gee, today they'd call the planet Gamma Aerilon VII or something, and note the "unusually hyper-accelerated rate of growth" of its lifeforms #
- Every single panel has a dialogue box explaining what's going on in the panel, like the writer didn't trust the artist to do his job #
- For example, the chars are swept away in some water. Caption: "Swirling rapids entrap the group…" Dialogue: "S-swim! Fight the current!" #
- Apparently, 1960s Star Trek comic writers were under the impression that people were too stupid to figure out the blindingly obvious #
- Apparently, while writhing in agony it's possible to calmly describe what's happening to you in minute detail #
- "And now we ourselves are vaporizing from the power of that accursed meteorite!" #
- The same meteorite which destroyed half the planet on the last page, but apparently left the atmosphere intact… #
- @A_Peabody Not a tirade. Just amusement at how different comics are today compared to the 60s in reply to A_Peabody #
- Because nothing says I'm on a ship that goes faster than light like a reel of 35mm film http://tweetphoto.com/16388530 #
- @Quarksbartender Definitely. I'd love to get to re-live the whole thing again; the parts they released on BluRay was nice but not the same in reply to Quarksbartender #
- W00t! RT @MethosChronicle: @TREKCAST IS BACK!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!! @quarksbartender – missed ya on the show buddy! #
- 1971 comic: Kirk and crew infiltrate a pirate ship. Everyone dressed like Jack Sparrow; the ship looked like a galleon w warp engines #
- That must take a hell of a lot of punch cards #startrek http://tweetphoto.com/16467053 #
- I'm halfway tempted to rewrite some of these old #startrek comics, to clean up the ridiculous "science" and bad characterization #
- They've got some really interesting premises, but horrid execution #
- Instead of recording an entire planet to magnetic tape in order to move it to a new star system and getting that tape stolen by kidnappers.. #
- …maybe shunt it to a pocket universe with a digital key on a computer chip that gets stolen? The basic premise remains the same… #
- …without "backing up" an entire planet and its population on a couple feet of 8mm 1960s reel-to-reel computer tape #
- I think FlashForward should be subtitled "The J.J. Abrams plan to keep the Lost cast who've been killed off on that show employed" #
- Mirror Universe marathon today. Watching "Emperor's New Cloak;" let's ignore the fact that Alliance ships decloaked in "Shattered Mirror" #
- "Amazing! My sinuses haven't been this clear in years! Find out if this Nagus has more of this… beetlesnuff!" #
- Apparently knowledge of basic astronomy isn't a requirement for starship captains #startrek http://tweetphoto.com/16575164 #
- No one will recognize Captain Kirk with that stylin' afro #startrek http://tweetphoto.com/16575205 #
- So, apparently, I live in the 4th most expensive city for apartment rentals in the USA #
- Just got an email from my brother; apparently they caught a Colombian terrorist trying to get into the USA by wearing a US Army uniform #
- Every day at 5th period I walk past the band room and one of the kids is playing the Mortal Kombat theme on the xylophone #
- Watching Trek 11 again and I realized one of the women Kirk bumps into in the bar fight was texting… #
- Saw Clash of the Titans tonight; pretty much as expected: lots of action & SFX, fast & loose w Greek myths, and a fun couple hours overall #
- @Quarksbartender Nice, though the first person I thought of was David Tennant lol in reply to Quarksbartender #
- Nothing like being ignored. Buncha ppl complaining on FB that eComics will cost $2; I tried explaining how that's a fair price, to no avail #
- Avg comic costs $4; printing, distribution & retailer get about 40% of that, which means the ppl making the comic get the other $2.50 #
- Given those numbers, $2 is a veritable steal… yet they keep complaining that they shouldn't have to pay more than $1. Effin' cheapskates #
- Got an email from the printer – the copies of The Protectorate #1 that I ordered were shipped today! #
- @A_Peabody They'll be listed for sale online, but I haven't gotten the links to that yet. I'll post them as soon as I do #
- @Jchawes 171? Wow, it's actually easier to name the places your show *doesn't* air in reply to Jchawes #
- Watching the new Episode of Stargate Universe #
- So the best review they could find of Hot Tub Time machine for the as was "So stupid it's brilliant"? Yeah, definitely skipping that movie #
- So the best review they could find of Hot Tub Time Machine for the ad was "So stupid it's brilliant"? Yeah, definitely skipping that movie #
- Trying to watch Merlin, but holy crap. It's like Smallville for King Arthur, but with no attempt at adhering to established Arthurian lore #
- Apparently, Merlin, Arthur, & "Gwen" were all teenagers together in Arthur's father's court… um, yeah. Right. #
- I'm willing to forgive that the props, sets & costumes are c 1500 instead of c 590… but geez, the show sucks #
- Man, this thing's so much of a blatant Smallville ripoff, Merlin even has a secret identity, keeping his powers secret from everyone… #
- So, after watching the Smallville knockoff, I'm watching the actual thing. So much better (even if he should be Superman by now) #
- Silver Banshee's in it; as usual, the Smallville characters look like they're straight off the comic pages. Outstanding costuming & casting #
- Made some brownies for the 1st time in a long while. So good that one filled me up… #
- While Pam Grier is good as Amanda Waller on Smallville, I really think she's way too skinny for the part; she needs a Fat Bastard-style suit #
- The character is called "The Wall" for two reasons in the comics: she's physically enormous, and her personality is unyielding #
- @aprilhebert And, shockingly, the aliens are actually, y'know, alien. Nearly every "alien" on Stargate up to this point was actually human in reply to aprilhebert #
- @aprilhebert 'Til now, we had Ancients (eff. human), Goa'uld, Unas, Asgard, Nox, Furlings, and Wraith… & Goa'uld were in human bodies in reply to aprilhebert #
- OK, so I should probably watch the movies I rented from the redbox at Stater Bros sometime tonight… #
- Is it just me, or is Facebook down? #
- Well, a quick Twitter search confirms that it's not just me. Facebook, we have a problem. #
- @A_Peabody That's odd. It's been off more than on for me all evening, and several others on Twitter are saying it's down for them, too in reply to A_Peabody #
- @A_Peabody It seems to be an issue with my ISP's DNS servers… I switched my computer over to use the OpenDNS servers and FB works fine now in reply to A_Peabody #
