I found out today that I may be able to get out of the Air Force a year earlier than expected.
Because I’m applying for a cancellation of my follow-on assignment to Scott AFB, Illinois, and the extension to my enlistment that accompanied it, I won’t have the retainability to transfer to another base. There’s currently a program in force to separate people who decline retainability, effective August of this year.
I’m going to talk to someone about this tomorrow, when I drop off my paperwork for the cancellation of my follow-on.
