I’m leaving in just barely more than a month. It’s funny; I moved around so much growing up that I can’t really stay in any one place for more than a few years. I think that’s one of the reasons I ended up enlisting. And I’m more than ready to move now. Especially after everything that happened last year. But at the same time, it just doesn’t quite seem real.
My final outprocessing date is on June 26th. Then I’ll loiter around here on leave until around July 5th, when my high school reunion ends. I’ll fly out to the midwest and spend some time with my family for the rest of July. And then it’s off to Turkey in August.
